Adriana Ferreira

Adriana Ferreira è primo flauto dell’Orchestra dell’Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. In precedenza ha ricoperto lo stesso ruolo all’Orchestra Filarmonica di Rotterdam ed è stata solista all’Orchestre National de France. Come primo flauto ospite ha collaborato con orchestre come il Mahler Chamber Orchestra, il Chamber Orchestra of Europe, la Filarmonica della Scala di Milano, la Seoul KBS Orchestra e la Finnish Radio Symphony. Nata in Portogallo e formata al Conservatorio Nazionale Superiore di Musica di Parigi con Sophie Cherrier e Vincent Lucas, ha inoltre studiato con Benoît Fromanger alla Hochschule Hanns Eisler di Berlino e ottenuto la laurea in Musicologia all’Università Sorbonne di Parigi. È vincitrice del Concorso Carl Nielsen in Danimarca (1º Premio, Premio dell’Orchestra e Premio del Pubblico), del 1º Premio al Concorso Severino Gazzelloni in Italia, del 3º Premio al Concorso di Kobe in Giappone e del 2º Premio ex aequo (primo non assegnato) con Premio Coup de Cœur Breguet al Concorso di Ginevra. Ha registrato tre CD come solista e recentemente due nuovi dischi della collezione Prix sans Prix, dedicata alle compositrici: uno con la pianista Isolda Crespi (compositrici laureate del Prix de Rome) e uno con la arpista Silvia Podrecca.

Adriana Ferreira is principal flute of the Orchestra of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia. Previously, she held the same position with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra and was a soloist with the Orchestre National de France. As a guest principal flute, she has collaborated with orchestras such as the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the Chamber Orchestra of Europe, the Philharmonic Orchestra of La Scala in Milan, the Seoul KBS Orchestra, and the Finnish Radio Symphony. Born in Portugal, she trained at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris with Sophie Cherrier and Vincent Lucas. She also studied with Benoît Fromanger at the Hochschule Hanns Eisler in Berlin and earned a degree in Musicology from the Sorbonne University in Paris. She is the winner of the Carl Nielsen Competition in Denmark (First Prize, Orchestra Prize, and Audience Prize), First Prize at the Severino Gazzelloni Competition in Italy, Third Prize at the Kobe Competition in Japan, and a joint Second Prize (first prize not awarded) with the Coup de Cœur Breguet Prize at the Geneva Competition. She has recorded three CDs as a soloist and recently released two new albums in the Prix sans Prix collection, dedicated to women composers: one with pianist Isolda Crespi (a Prix de Rome laureate) and one with harpist Silvia Podrecca.
